Halloween lunch this year was one of the most exciting fundraising events for KOALA Kids. More than 140 people helped raise in excess of $34,000 while enjoying the incredible hospitality of Steer Bar and Grill for the second consecutive year, a sumptuous menu designed and prepared by executive chef Shaun Neilson and his team, served meticulously by Paul Hesletine and his fabulous stewards. Alisha Griffiths shared her family’s story since her four year old son Teddy was diagnosed with Leukemia in September 2013 and Mecca Cosmetica’s Bec Shannon showed us how we can all wear orange lipstick and look like supermodels, without the diet!
The Steer Bar and Grill team rose to the occasion for the second consecutive year and in their inimitable style served a magnificent sharing style menu with utmost professionalism.
KOALA Kids interns looked fabulous in their orange-ish oneseason new season caftans and worked hard all day to bring the event to fruition.
Lucy Chait has developed a penchant for Scanlan Theodore winning her second $2,000 voucher (She won the other one at a Breast Cancer fundraiser a couple of years ago.)
Wendy Stuart paid $1,200 for Caroline Eshak-Liuzzi’s “Who gives a hoot!” painted especially for the lunch and many guests enjoyed fabulous surprises in their little $50 and $100 Halloween mystery bags.
Special thanks to all of the KOALA Kids volunteers back at the camp who worked tirelessly over the past 8 weeks collecting donations, stuffing trick or treat bags, writing, design and producing marketing collateral and basically pulling the event together.
