Pre school and primary students in long term cancer treatment and their siblings at The Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s enjoyed more than 20 school holiday sessions, a visit from the tooth fairy, three Christmas book club sessions, an artist in residence session, visits by illusionist and magician Michael Boyd and at the Kookaburra ward the popular monthly pizza making lunch and morning tea parties. Families with children with cancer also enjoyed the Wiggles concert at Rod Laver Arena and PlayFest, the kids music festival at the Myer Music Bowl.
“We would like to express our most grateful sincere appreciations for what you do and continue to provide for families like others. We’re very fortunate to have the beautiful Merridy that looks after us on the Kookaburra ward. The services you’ve provided are just unbelievable I don’t know how my daughter and family would’ve
coped if it wasn’t for KOALA Kids and the generosity of your supporters.
We’ve had such a long journey of more than five years and we’re still going with so many long weeks and months of admissions in the ward, to have Merridy pushing her trolley around with fresh fruits and fresh baked bread, to lollies and biscuits, pizzas every Monday, beautiful morning tea for the parents, arts and crafts for kids, school holiday programs just to name a few. Your unconditional support, dedication and love helped us through this horrific journey. Love is kind we can easily say that but KOALA Kids you don’t just say it you also act on it. The littlest things that the world can’t see you’ve achieved it We were also blessed to get the opportunity to attend PlayFest today, again my two young kids who have been affected greatly because of this journey got to enjoy themselves today. Thank you again KOALA Kids. I thought I’ll post a mini video to let you know how much fun they had today. Blessings to all. Much love Solo family.”
