KOALA Kids was fortunate enough to again be chosen by year 3 students at St Vincents de Paul Primary School, Strathmore for Charity Day 2014.

For the second consecutive year I spoke to the students about the work that KOALA Kids does and the type of support we offer children with cancer and their families.

The children then went home and with the support of their families donated new educational consumables, the type the children would enjoy using in the event they were sick or unable to attend school.

I returned last month to be presented with seven boxes filled with the most fabulous, generous and thoughtfully donated items that will provide hours and hours of distraction for children at the Children’s Cancer Centres at The Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s over the next few of months.

Year 3 teachers and KOALA Kids volunteers, Connie di Maio and Graham Troy spent a day at the KOALA Kids office during the September school holidays to learn more about the program. They printed, framed and sorted hundreds of certificates currently being delivered to KOALA Kids partners and donors in appreciation for their support during 2014.
