KOALA Kids congratulates Tony McGinn, Deputy Chair Children’s Cancer Centre Foundation (and former Chair KOALA Foundation) for being awarded an OAM in this year’s Australia Day honours.
Tony’s citation “For service to the community, particularly through fundraising events” recognises his outstanding work raising awareness of childhood cancer in Victoria. As chair of The Million Dollar Lunch committee since its inception in 2005, Tony has driven the event to raise in excess of $11 million in 10 years.
Tony, his wife Amanda and two sons Ben, and Nick aged 18 and 16 years respectively have all been great supporters of KOALA Kids since it was founded by Nick Mandie in 2005. Ben and Nick have both been very enthusiastic student ambassadors for the program promoting KOALA Kids to their fellow Melbourne Grammar student community throughout their school life and fundraising.
