If your child (aged from birth to 18 years) is receiving cancer treatment in Victoria or Tasmania, you are eligible to receive direct support through Koala Kids Happy Base.

Everything on Koala Kids Happy Base is provided to families at no cost.

SUPPORT FROM KOALA KIDS STARTS THE MINUTE YOU REGISTER 

When registering on the Happy Base, you will be prompted to choose items for your Happy Kit.  

Koala Kids Happy Kit

Koala Kids Happy Kit allows you to choose items that will be beneficial for your family. All the items have been recommended by families for being useful during cancer treatment. There are over 30 items to choose from including an American Tourister suitcase (carry-on size) for use as a hospital bag, food items, toiletries and activities for children.

You can choose as many or as few items as are useful for your family. Our volunteers will then pack the items you’ve chosen and we will send them to the address you’ve provided.

Monthly Email Newsletter
You will receive a monthly email newsletter in which you will be able to register for:

  • Themed activities for the whole family to enjoy! Some examples include gingerbread house kits at Christmas and Mother’s and Father’s Day craft
  • Therapeutic items like Koala Kids Pill Swallowing Kit and port pillows to alleviate pressure from car seatbelts
  • Occasional offers for special experiences in Melbourne plus other amazing items that we offer to families.

Birthday Smash Cake

Every child is offered a chocolate pinata smash cake to celebrate their birthday while undergoing cancer treatment.

Meal Hamper

Every month a number of families are provided with a meal hamper delivered to their home. Families are also able to request a meal hamper at a time they need it (i.e. planned hospital admission, surgery or having to live away from home). * Regret we are unable to make food deliveries to families in far regional Victoria and Tasmania.

Hospital Coffee Voucher

Families on Koala Kids Happy Base can request a voucher for 12 coffees at their hospital café (only available at Monash Children’s Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital).
