BOOK WEEK COMPETITIONS
Koala Kids is running three competitions for Book Week! The competitions are broken up into different age ranges, so find which range you (or your children) belong to and join in the fun!
There are nine prizes up for grabs. Just submit your short story, drawing or coloured picture by 26 August 2022. Our judges will choose winners and announce them on 30 August 2022.
1. Older Creators (13-18 Years): Write a Short Story
Write a short story that relates to the Book Week theme: dreaming with eyes open. You could either write a story based on a dream you had, or you could make up your own brand-new dream world. It’s up to you!
To learn how to write a short story, here’s A Short Guide to Short Story Writing.
- Story length: 400 – 1,000 words
- Submit using the link below
- Prize: A copy of your favourite book! 3 winners will be chosen
2. Younger Creators (7-12 Years): Draw a Picture
Think about a dream you had and draw it. Did you fly over the Sydney Harbour Bridge or bake cookies with a Kookaburra? Whatever your fun dream was, draw it or paint it and bring it to life! It can be as colourful and creative as you like.
- Scan (or photograph) the picture and submit it using the link below.
- Prize: A copy of your favourite book! 3 winners will be chosen
3. Early Childhood Creators (0-6 years): Colour In
Choose one of the Mulganai colouring pages below and colour it in. Make it your own beautiful dreamscape. Use crayons or markers – whatever you like!
