Ask any child or young person what they would do to keep themselves entertained for around an hour and their immediate answer is usually Netflix or playing on an iPad!

Koala Kids has recently provided two iPads to the paediatric radiotherapy department at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre for children and young people to use during radiotherapy. In order to lie perfectly still for their radiotherapy children under five years of age are usually anaesthetised every day.  Sadly, Peter Mac has recently experienced an increase in the number of children requiring two sessions of radiotherapy each day (morning and afternoon) meaning they cannot be anaesthetised.

The iPads, which have been loaded with Netflix allow children to choose movies and television shows to watch during treatment, hopefully keeping them perfectly still and allowing them to relax.

Thanks to two very generous benefactors, the brand-new iPads were donated to Koala Kids.
